Mosquito Lagoon

Mosquito lagoon 60 miles east of Orlando on the
Atlantic coast. Mosquito Lagoon is within the
boundaries of Merritt Island National Wild Life
Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore. Most of the
Lagoon is 3 ft. or less. Weather is important to
fishing success here. Cold fronts, winds Tide is not
a factor.
This may be the best place in the entire state for
redfish, because of the flats and miles of
shoreline. Extensive seagrass grows in the shallows,
perfect cover for Redfish, many catches are well in
the excess of the current 27 to 32 inch slot limit
maximum for redfish. Spotted sea trout are also
abundant in the Lagoon.
Mosquito Lagoon holds 750,000 species of sea life in
it's Lagoon some 40 miles in length and 1 to 5 miles
in width. Within an hour drive from Orlando and
Kissimmee.
