As a fisherman, well woman, I enjoy all the fishing shows. I learn so much by watching the different Pros and their unique forms of fishing. Here in Florida, we have some of the best lakes for fishing for largemouth black bass, so no wonder the pros love to come here to fish!
We will start off with the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Eastern Open! Kick off day is January 24 on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg, Fl. The fish for 3 days and the final weigh in is at Bass Pro Shops in Orlando.
Our next group is the Major League Fishing tournament. Tis group of guys have really earned their way into this event. The difference in this one is that all these anglers have been invited into this tournament. You don’t “earn” a spot by winning or finishing high in other tournaments. They kick off their season here in Kissimmee, but no one knows where they will be fishing until the morning of, so no chance to pre fish for this event. The exciting way this tournament is fished is that they don’t do an “after tournament weigh in”. All anglers have an official on the boat and they weigh every fish that is caught and then released. At the end of the day, they announce how the angles have done.
The final big tournament we are having in our area is FLW. This tournament is fishing on Lake Toho starting on February 7. The first 2 days weigh in at 3:00 pm at Big Toho Marina at the Kissimmee lake front. The last 2 day weigh in starts at 4:00.
We encourage everyone to come out and support your favorite fishing pro. I’m sure if you do, you might see me there.
